RST Cranes Certified as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)

RST Cranes Inc. awarded national certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) January 2, 2014

RST Cranes, a California business specializing in Mobile Crane Services in Tehachapi, California, was granted certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council (SCMSDC), an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

“Being honored with MBE certification places us amongst the country’s leading minority-owned businesses,” says Sonya Torres of RST Cranes. “We’re looking forward to building new relationships within the Southern California community and helping more customers with their crane and lifting needs.”

Public and private sector firms both seek out minority-owned suppliers that have formal certification with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), a membership organization designed to connect more than 3,500 corporate members with certified MBEs throughout the United States.

This highly coveted certification entitles RST Cranes to be listed in the NMSDC’s Business Information System (MBISYS®), an online database of certified minority-owned businesses in the United States. This network creates a platform for MBEs to efficiently market to corporations that need qualified MBEs to fulfill their supplier diversity goals. The federal government aims to allocate 23% of total acquisition dollars towards diversifying their supply base, making MBEs more attractive for government projects.

To become certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), a company must undergo intensive screening procedures and show that the organization is at least 51% minority-owned, operated, and controlled.
